First edition of The Bell magazine published

26 February 2015

The first edition of the new annual Tuckwell magazine, The Bell, has been published.

This edition looks back on 2014, and profiles our inaugural cohort of Scholars and their year that was. A new edtion of the magazine will be published each year and will eventually also become our way of staying in touch with the Tuckwell alumni cohort - the first Tuckwell Scholars are due to graduate at the end of 2016!

The name of the magazine comes from the Tuckwell Bell that is used to 'ring in' each new Scholar at the Commencement Dinner held in February each year. The handbell was commissioned by Graham and Louise Tuckwell, and was cast by Britain's oldest manufacturing company, the Whitechapel Bell Foundtry in London. The crafting of this handbell from molten metal into sound signifies the transformativeimpact that the Tuckwell Scholarship program at ANU will have on the lives of the Scholars.
