Annual camp

The weekend instilled in the first-year cohort a sense of what was expected of us; that is, to make the most of what the program has to offer, whilst simultaneously being bold enough to shape it into what we think it should be.

Each year, first, second and third year Scholars join the Head of Scholars House, the Tuckwell Scholarship Office staff, the Fellows and guest facilitators at the ANU Coastal Campus at Kioloa on the south coast of NSW. The camp runs from Friday evening through to Sunday and is a chance for Scholars to get to know each other, both within and between year groups, and engage in learning and reflection around topics relevant to the Tuckwell Scholar experience.

"Structured around themes of the Tuckwell identity, resilience and giving back, the weekend instilled in the first-year cohort a sense of what was expected of us; that is, to make the most of what the program has to offer, whilst simultaneously being bold enough to shape it into what we think it should be," Nick Wyche, 2015 Scholar.

Kioloa is a great location for camp, boasting outstanding meeting and accommodation facilities set amidst the natural coastal beauty of a relatively undeveloped part of the NSW south coast.
