Meet Sam. Her home town of Dorrigo, NSW has a population of 4,000 and is surrounded by bush.
Sam joined the Tuckwell community in 2014 and her Tuckwell Scholarship helped her to settle into university life and make friends quickly.
An outdoors enthusiast, Sam felt right at home in Canberra’s beautiful bush setting. The parks and trails reminded her of home and offered her the opportunity to explore.
Sam undertook a Bachelor of Medical Science followed by the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. She is one of many Scholars on the Medicine Pathway Program, which offers select Tuckwell Scholars an assured pathway between a single or double undergraduate degree at the ANU to the ANU’s Doctor of Medicine and Surgery Program.
Sam’s medical studies have taken her to many interesting places. She recently spent six weeks in a remote town in the Northern Territory where she worked alongside the Royal Flying Doctor’s Service.
