2024 Tuckwell Bell Ringer announced
I am incredibly grateful for the Tuckwell community, who have been a family for me when I am far from home. Their support, love and energy is a part of what makes the Tuckwell Scholarship so special, and I hope to give it back tenfold...
The Tuckwell Scholarship Program is delighted to announce that Sophie Fleming (2024 Tuckwell Scholar) from Centenary Heights, QLD has been elected by her peers to the position of Bell Ringer.
The role is awarded to a Tuckwell Scholar from the most recent cohort who has consistently demonstrated the Tuckwell attributes and who best represents what it means to be a Tuckwell Scholar. The position title stems from the Tuckwell handbell used in the 'ringing in' ceremony at the annual Commencement Dinner. As this year’s Bell Ringer, Sophie will play a lead role in the 2025 Commencement Weekend festivities.
Sophie attended The Glennie School in Toowoomba and is currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (HaSS) at ANU. Alongside her studies, Sophie is passionate about trying as many new and exciting opportunities that college life and the ANU offer - just ask her about line dancing! During her first year with the Tuckwell Scholarship Program, Sophie joined the Bell committee and has loved being involved in such an inspiring community.
“I am incredibly grateful for the Tuckwell community, who have been a family for me when I am far from home. Their support, love and energy is a part of what makes the Tuckwell Scholarship so special, and I hope to give it back tenfold as a representative for the program in 2025.”
