ANU graduate Riley Guyatt (2020) awarded oldest, most prestigious University prize…
Neither the prizes nor the rest of my degree and university experience would have been possible without the support of the Tuckwell program.
Recently graduated, Riley Guyatt is a 2020 Tuckwell Alum, and has received both the 2023 Tilyard prize for contribution to University life AND the 2023 Charles D Jubb prize for Environmental Research for her final Honours thesis with the Fenner School.
Riley studied a Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability and her Honours project focussed on improving our understanding of bushfire behaviour in eucalypt litter.
The Tillyard Prize is the oldest and most prestigious prize available to bachelor degree students of the University. Originally established in 1940, the Prize is awarded to the student whose personal qualities and contribution to University life have been outstanding and who in the year of the award has completed a Degree of Bachelor with Honours.
The Charles D Jubb Prize for Environmental Research is awarded each year to the student who, in that year was enrolled in the Honours Year of a program leading to the award of a degree of Bachelor in the Fenner School of Environment and Society, College of Science, and judged to be the most outstanding Honours graduate of that calendar year.
This recognition for Riley’s remarkable academic and extracurricular University work is another proud moment for the Tuckwell community.
Our Scholars and Alumni are doing some incredible work and consistently excelling in their chosen fields.
“Neither the prizes nor the rest of my degree and university experience would have been possible without the support of the Tuckwell program.”
“The welcoming environment of Scholars House, the networking and mentoring opportunities, and the personal development from Tuckwell camps and first year events have all been really valuable to me throughout my university experience.”
