This past weekend, Scholars House was filled with joy as we celebrated our graduating Tuckwell Scholars at the annual Graduation Pancakes event – with a record number of Scholars graduating this year.
This Tuckwell tradition is more than just a delicious breakfast; it’s a chance to pause, reflect, and honour the dedication, resilience, and achievements of our Scholars before they embark on the next stage of their journeys.
Associate Professor Michelle Barrett, Head of Scholars House, offered inspiring words of wisdom about life beyond university and shared some stories about her own experiences as a Junior Dr posted overseas, while graduating Scholar Finn McCredie (2021) shared heartfelt reflections on the Scholar experience – from the very early days of Orientation at Scholars House, to finding belonging in a supportive and nurturing cohort and the friendships and memories built along the way.
Staff and Fellows also gathered to farewell these remarkable young people, who first arrived at Scholars House soon after finishing year 12, and have now completed their undergraduate studies, a significant milestone.
Congratulations once again to our newest graduates! We are thrilled to welcome you into the growing Tuckwell Alumni community.
May Scholars House always feel like your home away from home – and we look forward to following your journeys beyond ANU.
