This week on Tuckwell Talks, we are delighted to have a guest host – 2021 scholar Chris Jackson.
Chris speaks with 2015 Scholar, Lachlan Arthur.
Lachlan is originally from country South Australia and last year completed his PhD at Oxford University on a Rhodes scholarship and returned to ANU to complete medicine.
They discuss his passion for medicine and sports as well as dealing with nerves and burnout, defending his PhD at Oxford, mentors, important decisions made during study, the differences between college systems in Australia and the UK, maintaining friendships across continents, overseas start-up programs, the joys of ANU trademarks - IB and Div X runs, the tough grind of an honours year, rethinking life decisions whilst harvesting cells on Sunday evenings, and the importance of doing the things you really enjoy, having good support people around you and always having an abundance of ginger readily available at a dinner party!
