Jemma Jeffree (2019)
Scholar Profile
Jemma moved to Canberra as part of the 2019 Tuckwell cohort. The Tuckwell network helped her quickly feel at home and has supported her throughout her degree. At ANU, Jemma has found a passion for research. Phenomena and processes related to Earth’s climate interest her most, and she enjoys distilling large datasets down to conceptual models of these phenomena. After several undergraduate projects, she is awed by how much remains unknown about Earth’s climate system, despite the direct impact it has on day-to-day life. It’s a combination of this and how interrelated and linked different aspect of the climate system are that draws her to climate research, an area she would like to stay in after graduating. Jemma also enjoys presenting research projects and teaching at the Australian Earth Science Olympiad Summer School.
