2023 Tuckwell Scholar, Chi Chi Zhao awarded Amgen Scholarship for the Oceania Region

Chi Chi is a 2023 Scholar, and currently studying a Bachelor of Philosophy (Science) at ANU. 

Earlier this year, Chi Chi worked on a research project with the Clear Vision Group at the ANU John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR).

In semester 2, she participated in an exchange program at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Chi Chi is one of only ten students to be selected for the Amgen Scholars Program (Oceania region)!

The Amgen Scholars Program is an international program that gives undergraduate students hands-on lab experience, working for 7 weeks in a world-class lab. The Amgen Scholars Program is a unique program, combining research experience with travel and an international community. 

For the Amgen Program, Chi Chi will be placed with the translational hearing research team at the Bionics Institute, working on a project to help improve detection of hearing issues in infants for earlier treatment. During her exchange at the NUS, Chi Chi was also a visiting student at the Ho Han Kiat research lab
