Scholars House was host to the very first Tuckwell Soiree on Sunday afternoon, a treat for Scholars and staff.
The informal event offered Scholars a short relaxing break as they mark the end of official teaching weeks at ANU and move into final exams and assessment deadlines.
The success of the first Tuckwell Soiree means it is now a Tuckwell tradition which will be carried forward for years to come in Scholars House.
Scholars shared their many hidden talents and passions, including musical excellence (Jack Keogh 2025, Bartholomew Cheng 2025, Ethan Zhu, 2025, Sydney Bao, 2024, Inez Crosby, 2025, Nayl Fassi Firhi, 2025, Bill McCart, 2025), a multimedia presentation (Chloe Heiniger 2021, Rhys Nickerson 2022), poetry prowess (Narryna Nicholas, 2023, Luke McNamara, 2023 – all the way from Dublin via video!), MC (Isaac Ford, 2025), flash dance instructor (Sophie Fleming, 2024), as well as some sharp presentation skills (Oscar Pearce, 2021).
A soiree would not be one, without some sort of refreshment and a big thank you goes to Aimee Choi, 2025, who almost single handedly prepared and served the food.
Thank you to all Scholars and staff for making the first Tuckwell Soiree a great success. The first of many to come, only time will tell which new Tuckwell skills will be on display.
