“The thing that I’ve found incredibly valuable has been just the people involved with the program, being able to talk with other Scholars both from my cohort and from all the cohorts.”
Meet Micah. Growing up in Riverton, WA, Micah has always been interested in the field of mathematics, science and philosophy.
What is the most important part of the Tuckwell Scholarship Program to you?
“The thing that I’ve found incredibly valuable has been just the people involved with the program, being able to talk with other Scholars both from my cohort and from all the cohorts.”
“I’ll often find that there’s people at ANU who not only have done research in that area, but are actually fairly well known and celebrated. I was really amazed by how easy it is to reach out to them and not only get a response back, but to get back a really positive and encouraging response.”
One of the valued attributes of Tuckwell Scholars is their ability to be Smart and Lateral Thinkers. We encourage Scholars to be smart, creative and to look at situations from new perspectives. Scholars like Micah are supported by a team of experienced staff who help them to find opportunities, build networks and achieve their personal and professional goals through mentoring, events and workshops.
