The Tuckwell community is delighted to celebrate Georgia Leak (2016) on being awarded the 2026 Chairman’s Circle John Monash Scholarship.
Georgia is a member of the 2016 Tuckwell cohort and graduated from ANU in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours). Georgia is currently Speechwriter and Strategic Communications Advisor to the Federal Minister for Finance and Women.
With the support of the John Monash Scholarship, Georgia will pursue a Master of Communication Science (Political Communication) at the University of Amsterdam in 2026. Her research will explore how new forms of media are reshaping the way we engage with politics and democracy.
The John Monash Scholarship is one of Australia’s most prestigious postgraduate awards, enabling recipients to study at any international university in any field. Inspired by the legacy of General Sir John Monash, the scholarship provides up to$100,000 AUD per year for up to three years of full-time study. Each year, between 14–20 scholarships are awarded to outstanding Australians who demonstrate excellence in their field, leadership aptitude, and a commitment to contributing to a better future for Australia.
